Overview
A 1940s Tuxedo Park estate — original plaster moldings, heart pine floors, and a staircase that had seen eight decades of family life. The owners didn't want it erased. They wanted it honored. Our work here was more archaeology than design. We stripped away forty years of poor renovations to find what the house had always been trying to be. Original architectural details were preserved and elevated. New materials were chosen to age alongside the old ones.

Old houses ask you to listen before you speak. This one had very clear opinions about what it wanted to become. Our job was simply to get out of the way. — Elise Calloway
